Why Manifestation Works
When we want the things we say we want, we're really after how it'll make us feel. We don't actually want the million dollar business/ job offer, we want safety, recognition, freedom and accomplishment. We don't necessarily want any romantic partner, we want love, safety, companionship and adventure.
One of the core principles of manifesting is to "act as if" we already have that million dollar business/ romantic partner -- acting as if means imaging you already have it, and then taking your desires off the pedestal, i.e. closing the gap between what you have and what you want to have.
Here’s why this works.
When you already believe you have what you want, your salient brain takes over. Simply put, once an intention is placed in your field of desire, your subconscious will find evidence to make it a reality. You get attuned to any possibility that creates the opportunities to come your way. You create opportunities where you previously would not have.
Your intuition takes over and makes sh** happen for you. That's where the magic is. It's in getting the intuitive hit and then acting on what you feel inspired to do.
Let's be clear: acting as if should not mean we act as if we have a million dollars in our checking account and go into the yolo-- treat yourself mentality -- that creates a cycle of debt and resentment, pushing away what we wanted to begin with and causing nervous system dysregulation.
Nervous system dysregulation can be set off by any number of things, which I will get into in next week's email -- in short - it kicks off our fight or flight response, making any rational decision making unlikely and we start saying yes to ideas and decisions on fear alone (not a great idea).
So, try this: for the next couple days, identify your next big desire and tune into how you want to feel. Breathe into that good feeling, and promise to write down any inspired ideas that come to you. And then act on the ones that feel aligned.
Right now, I am loving Dr James Doty (check out his book Mind Magic)!
He goes into far more detail on his take on the law of attraction and how manifesting, a practice originally from The Mudanka Upanishad, a Hindu scripture, actually works. But the reason he says the universe doesn't give an f about you is because we've gone too long believing only "the chosen few" could manifest, the truth is -- anyone can do it. There's pure science behind it. If you truly want something - not for material satisfaction but for a deeper soul-level why, your success is inevitable.
I've been deepening my learning to help both me and my community live lives of true purpose and abundance and am grateful you're here.
